Apartment Ruster Straße 6

This object was built about at the beginning of the 20th century. Compared to the mainstreet of Oggau where the rich farmers settled, the Ruster Strasse was the area of the so called "Gassler". Farmers with a small number of cattle, maybe one horse and a small-sized vineyard lived in this area. About 400 m2 were sufficient enough for their farmstead, stable, shed, wine cellar and courtyard.

The walls are made out of sandstone, the wall thickness is about 60 cm. In the former stable and in the wine cellar you can find old vaults of bricks.

After the death of the previous owner the building was unoccupied for more than 10 years and went to ruin.

We purchased the estate in 1988. The broken roof was renewed, also the unusable installation and the floor. The anteroom and bathroom were added. All the broken windows were replaced, partly in the traditional style of construction.

The jungle-like courtyard was paved with granitstone cubes, the ancient pear tree still looks at you and gives you shade in summer.

The thick walls of sandstones fixed in loam offer an unique room climate and in the walled courtyard you can relax completely undisturbed.
